Konkurencyjność produktów polskiego rolnictwa po wejściu do UE

Abstract: The accession of Poland to the European Union turned out to be beneficial for the Polish agriculture as well as for Polish food processing plants. On the contrary to the previous anxiety, the Polish market was not flooded with the merchandise from the European Union countries. Similarly, a mass bankruptcy of the agri-food companies did not take place. The increase of exports of Polish food into the Common European Market as well as the positive trade balance of agricultural and food products both prove that Polish agricultural and food processing sectors are competitive. The key factor of comparative advantages of the above mentioned sectors in Poland compared with, in particular, the developed countries of the European Union is a lower prices especially resulting from lower remuneration of labour as well as from lower costs of other production factors. However, along with the increase of salaries, the advantages of Polish producers will be diminished. Consequently, the labour productivity as well as the quality of products shall become higher. / Synopsis. Przystąpienie Polski do UE okazało się korzystne dla polskiego rolnictwa i zakładów przetwórstwa rolno-spożywczego. Wbrew wcześniejszym obawom nie zalała nas żywność z państw Europy Zachodniej oraz nie było masowej upadłości firm z sektora żywnościowego. Rosnący eksport polskiej żywności na wspólny unijny rynek oraz dodatnie saldo w handlu artykułami rolno- spożywczymi świadczy o konkurencyjności polskiego sektora rolnego oraz przetwórstwa. Głównym elementem przewag komparatywnych obu tych sektorów w Polsce w odniesieniu zwłaszcza do rozwiniętych krajów UE, są niższe ceny produktów wynikające z niższej opłaty pracy ludzkiej i niższe koszty innych czynników produkcji. Wraz ze wzrostem płac przewagi te będą maleć, stąd powinna rosnąć m.in. wydajność pracy oraz nastąpić poprawa jakości produkowanych produktów.
