Abstract: The aim of the research presented in the article was to analyze the buying price volatility of broiler chicken in selected EU member states. Evaluation of variation was made using the standard deviation measured on the logarithmic difference of prices. The results show that there are big differences in price volatility in the individual EU member states. It has been shown that none of the time series is characterized by a normal distribution. / Synopsis. Celem pracy była analiza zmian cen tuszek kurczaków mięsnych typu brojler w Polsce i na wybranych rynkach krajów Unii Europejskiej. Oceny zmienności dokonano za pomocą wartości odchylenia standardowego mierzonego na różnicach logarytmicznych cen. Przeprowadzone badania wskazują, że występują duże różnice zmienności cen w poszczególnych krajach członkowskich UE. Wykazano, iż żaden z szeregów czasowych nie charakteryzuje się rozkładem normalnym.
