COSTOS DE PRODUCCIÓN Y RENTABILIDAD DE LA CAÑA DE AZUCAR PARA FRUTA (Saccharum officinarum) EN UNA REGIÓN DEL ESTADO DE MÉXICO

Abstract: With the objective of determining costs and total income and profitability in the production of sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum) for fruit, research was carried out in the southern region of the State of Mexico during 2015. The methodology used was cost, revenue and profit at the private level, in current terms (without inflation); which the producer disbursed in a quantifiable way in the crop. The field information came from the direct application of a semi-structured survey to 34 producers, by means of sampling for finite populations, with emphasis on economic-technical variables. The results showed that, with and without indebtedness, total cost of production and the gain by hectare cultivated, benefit/cost ratio and point of equilibrium, was $80,487, $41,567.0, 1.5 and 20.7 tons; $87,287, $34767, 1.4 and 34.7 tons; for a production process that starts in November of a year and is harvested in November to December of the following year. It is concluded that the system is profitable, but is sensitive to the purchase price for a greater participation of producers in the sales process.
