Abstract:
This paper aims to analyze the influence of external openness on the specialization of the Peruvian avocado export sector. The methodological tool for the development of the research was the External Openness Coefficient, the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index and an Econometric Model. The research is based on theories of growth based on exports and the role of the State in the growth of exports. Among the main results, it was found that the change in institutional reforms by the Peruvian State has generated development in the Peruvian avocado export sector. These changes, such as the external opening of Peru, not only strengthens the Peruvian avocado export sector, per se, but has also achieved the specialization of the sector at an international level.
