Revista Mexicana de Agronegocios, 2023, vol. 53, issue July-december 2023

Abstract: The conflagration between Russia and Ukraine, being between two of the countries in the world with significant amounts of corn production, influenced in 2022 on the world availability of said product and its prices, as well as the prices of futures contracts for that cereal expiring in 2022 and 2023, which were the subject of transactions on the Chicago Board of Trade. This paper will try to determine the relationship between these two variables (international availability of corn and the prices of such contracts) in the context of that conflict.
