Abstract:
The objective of this study was to verify the evolution of economic indicators of the families, living in 27 communities, benefited by Rural Poverty Reduction Program in the state of Ceará. For this purpose, the years of 1998 (base year) and 2001 were selected. The information was obtained from the beneficiaries of projects such as water supply, rural electrification, agriculture mechanization and land reform. The results allowed to conclude that there was an improvement in living conditions, acquisition of durable goods and income level of population benefited by the Program. Also, comparison between per capita income of these families and rural population of the state was made
