Abstract:
The paper focuses on tourism as a complete social phenomenon and its place in the regional development of the contemporary world. Sociological and cultural analysis point to different functions which this polivalent phenomenon has in a structure and dynamics of the contemporarz world society. The author’s analysis focuses on the research of tourism as a factor of regional development, interculturalism and the affirmation of the culture of peace between people, with the special emphasis on the need and the possibilties of intergrational cooperation in teh feald of tourism between the Balkans and Georgia. The author points to the developmental and sociocultural function of tourism and homoturisticus in the modern world globalization.
