Abstract:
Research indicators define a level of scientific activity of a society. The World Bank has developed adequate KAM indicators which help assess the readiness of ECA countries to support commercial innovation. Therefore, counties are ranked in three categories: countries that are "ready“ for implementing innovation support instruments, countries without proper innovation system, and countries that lack one or more of the elements NIS. According to this kind of assessment based on the World Bank’s indicators, Serbia has a very low score which indicates a need for enhancing R&D.
