Abstract:
Starting with the stance that the basic cause of low competitiveness of a country is its innovative lagging behind, the paper compares the levels of competitiveness, innovativeness and their basic determinants of world’s economic and technological leaders and Serbia. Lagging of Serbia behind the most technologically leading world’s economies is present with all factors of innovativeness and is especially evident in terms of market sophistication.
