Abstract: Human resources own the knowledge, inovative potential, intellectual and physical capacity. People are those who create these products and services, control the quality, sell products, manage and finance the production process, determine strategy and objectives of the company... Without this resource, all work would be impossible. Correct selection of new employees is very important for every company because the companies which are skilled to select and retain quality employees will be achived thanks to competitive advantage in the market. The most common method of employment of labor in Serbia is through friends or relatives, followed by ads of the National Employment Service and other methods. The rarest are the recruitment of workers through the employment of private employment agencies, the institutions for education/training, and improvement of existing employees in the company.
