Sustainability of the State Aid Control System in Serbia

Abstract: The category of state aid and the state aid control system as a pre-accession obligation of Serbia in the process of integration into the European Union and as a subsystem of competition protection policy are gaining actuality and importance in Serbia starting from 2010, with the beginning of the implementation of the Law on State Aid Control. The aim of the paper is to examine the sustainability of the system of state aid control in Serbia eight years after the beginning of the implementation of the law. In this paper, through a comparative analysis of the way of functioning, legal regulation and state aid granted in the European Union and Serbia, the advantages and disadvantages of the national state aid control system are highlighted.
