Assessment the role of Ukraine in the global honey market

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to investigate actual tendencies and key features of Ukrainian honey market taking into account possibilities of internal production and existent demand on the international market. Research methods. In the research process were used the following scientific methods: theoretical generalization (for description the Ukrainian and world markets of honey); analysis and synthesis (for establishing an actual correlation between production, consumption and export of honey in Ukraine, as well as for generalization the reasons, that interfere stabilization and development of industry in context of production diversification and export potential); comparative evaluation (for underlining main producing and exporting countries on the world honey market, including organic production direction of beekeeping); graphic and tabular (for better visualization of the research results). Research results. The production of honey in Ukraine was described by different categories of producers and regional structure, and the dynamics of its export and basic foreign markets of sale were considered. Evaluating factors that confirm curvature of present statistical information on the internal honey market were determined. Modern situation and conditions on the world honey market were analysed and the role of Ukraine as an important supplier was determined. Problems in functioning of home honey market were systematized and recommendations for their solution were given. Elements of scientific novelty. There were determined the reasons for disparity between official statistical data on the honey production in Ukraine and its export in accordance with real situation on the internal market. Practical significance. The provisions of the article are aimed at opening typical features and most substantial problem questions in Ukrainian beekeeping, that first and foremost need attention from public authorities, local self-government, producers, exporters of honey and other subjects of agribusiness.
