Fruit and berries market development in Ukraine

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to consider the state of the Ukrainian fruit and berries market development and to assess the necessity of the state financial support of horticulture. Research methods. The basis of the research was the dialectical method of knowledge of the market processes and a systematic approach to the study of problems that arise during production and movement of horticultural products from producer to consumer. The following methods were applied: analytical generalizations, balance, statistical comparisons, constructive and calculative, graphical in order to generalization, analysis and evaluate the market conjuncture indicators. Research results. The economic parameters of the domestic fruits and berries market development (production, consumption, price situation, foreign trade) have been estimated. The level of consumer support with fruitful crops was established as well as the production requirement according to the product's usage direction. The features of structural and geographical changes in exportimport supplies of fruits and berries are disclosed. The expediency of financial support for the horticulture industry and the specifics of the distribution of funds are determined. Scientific novelty. The basic parameters of the domestic fruits and berries market development are substantiated in terms of the need to rationally meet the needs of the population, increase the export potential and further state support for the horticulture industry. Practical significance. The research results should be used in the formation of a targeted program for the long term horticulture industry development, aimed primarily at the rational provision of fruitful products to the population of Ukraine.
