Functioning of eco-hotels in Ukraine as a factor of activization of entrepreneurial activity

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to examine eco-hotel business as a component of the hospitality industry and factor of activization of entrepreneurial activity in Ukraine. Research methods. Theoretical and methodological foundations of the research are scientific studies of the Ukrainian and foreign scholars who are engaged in exploring the hospitality industry. The main method of the research is systemic analysis for complex examination of prospects for the eco-hotels development in Ukraine and its southern region. The method of theoretical generalization and abstract-logical method are used to substantiate the necessity to expand the network of eco-hotels and improve the functioning of analogous means of lodging in the regions of Ukraine. Research results. The development of ecological hotels is a promising trend in the area of hospitality of Ukraine. The paper looks at the features of the functioning of eco-hotels as a factor of activization of entrepreneurial activity and also the main criteria for such means of lodging. It proves that the development of the network of eco-hotels contributes to attracting additional tourists and finance to the regional budgets. The study determines main directions of the development of eco-tourism in the southern region. Scientific novelty. It's identified characteristics of the functioning of eco-hotel businesses in the system of strategic development of Ukraine’s regions. Practical significance of the obtained results consists in the possibility of using the proposals for efficient development of the eco-hotel industry in choosing the strategy for the development of Ukraine’s regions.
