Caracterización económica de las cooperativas forestales en Castilla y León

Abstract: Además de su importancia en el ámbito de la producción, las cooperativas juegan un papel vertebrador en una Comunidad Autónoma tan extensa y escasamente poblada como Castilla y León. En este trabajo se han analizado las cooperativas asociadas a un sector que no suele estudiarse por separado, como es el sector forestal, y que presenta unas características marcadamente diferentes a otros sectores próximos como pueden ser el agrícola y el ganadero. A través de los datos aportados por diferentes fuentes y con la ayuda de una encuesta, se han caracterizado las empresas cooperativas forestales en esta autonomía, en función de diversas variables. Además, se han analizado los aspectos financieros de estas empresas, obteniéndose unos ratios medios que se han comprobado son diferentes a los que muestran tanto las cooperativas agrarias como las empresas forestales. Finalmente, se ha realizado un análisis estratégico sobre la situación de estas empresas...Besides their importance as production agents, cooperatives play an integrative role in an extensive and barely populated region as Castilla y León. In this work the cooperatives associated to the forest sector have been analyzed. It should stand out that these cooperatives are not usually studied separately from other cooperatives. They show some characteristics different from related economic sectors as the agrarian sector. Based on data collected from different sources and with the aid of a survey, the forest cooperatives have been characterized in this region, considering diverse variables. In addition, the financial aspects of these organizations have been analyzed, obtaining average ratios which differ from those that characterize agrarian cooperatives as well as forest non-cooperatives enterprises. Finally, a strategic analysis of these cooperatives it has been carried out using S.W.O.T. methodology.
