Food Spending and Income
Anthony E. Gallo
Food Review/ National Food Review, 1981, vol. NFR 15, issue 01
Abstract:
Consumers sharply increased their expenditures on food m the Nation's restaurants and refreshment places in the first quarter of 1981 as disposable personal income continued to rise at a brisk pace. Grocery store food purchases were also higher in dollar sales. But expenditures for both food at home and food away from home were below those of the first quarter of 1980 when adjustments are made for higher prices and population increases.
