Abstract: This research demonstrates the need and the procedure for testing sector programming models It compares the model estimates of endogenous variables to carefully selected base period parameters It uses an operational, static, deterministic, and highly aggregate programming model of Philippine agriculture as the framework Alternative formulations of the Philippine model are also examined for possible errors In the consumption, production, and objective function data sets
