Safety Standards for Mobile Homes Make a Difference

Abstract:
Construction standards were implemented in 1976 to make mobile homes safer. The standards have made a great difference, based on a comparison of fires in mobile homes constructed before the standards took effect and in those constructed afterwards. Furthermore, the newer mobile homes are much safer than site-built houses in terms of incidence of fires and about as safe in terms of fire-related deaths.
