Abstract:
The research article entitled “The Ombudsman institution and the safeguards for exercising its mandate†is analysing one of the fundamental institutions of the rule of law in Romania. Based on an intense analysis of Romanian legislation, national Courts decisions, Romanian Ombudsman (People’s Advocate) reports, and comparative analysis, the research creates a clear picture of the role and powers of the Ombudsman, the status, particularities and guarantees for exercising its mandate.
