Abstract: This review discusses Ioan Alexandru's 2019 volume Despre sacralitatea justiției/About the Sacredness of Justice (Bucharest: the Publishing House of the Romanian Academy), a first edition published in Romanian with an English and French preface by Romanian Academy member Alexandru Surdu. The reviewer summarises the book's five chapters in turn - on the state of justice and its politicization, on laws, morals and legal consciousness, on the sacred and the profane, on the sacralization and desacralization of justice, and on whether belief in the sacredness of justice is unscientific - and situates the work as a philosophical approach to justice and public administration.
