Abstract: The article deals with the comparative analysis of the medium–term cycles the economic activity the scale of the world and Russian economy. The economic situation in 2008–2020 was similarly charactarized by balternating recessions, plateaus and rises in both the Russian and global economies. It is a big question whether well–known crises of 2008, 2014 and 2020 were standard resale crises, and the wobbling of sanctions and the coronavirus pandemic are new secondary factors of market fluctuations.
