The meaning and function of business planning

Abstract: The relevance of the research topic is that in modern market conditions, business planning of their activities is not only possible, but also necessary for companies, regardless of their organizational form, size, type and field of activity. For any company, no matter at what stage of its life cycle it is, it is advisable to draw up a business plan of activity in the course of which goals and tasks are set, the implementation of which is further monitored and it is possible to adjust them in accordance with the prevailing development conditions. The article discusses the importance of business planning in the enterprise, presents a number of definitions that characterize the concept of «business plan», and also highlights the main and additional functions that a business plan performs.
