Abstract: The HoReCa sector is characterized by a particular sensitivity with regard to the fluctuations of a country’s or a region’s general economic situation. It has also proven to be extremely fluctuating in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, once numerous restrictions were imposed, which led to slowing down or interrupting the activity, against the background of setting up the state of alert and the state of emergency. The article hereby aims to emphasize the dynamics of this sector by starting from a particular case, namely an important company in the field – Turism Felix SA from Băile Felix. During recent years, both Băile Felix resort and the analysed company have developed perpetually and exponentially. The latter proved to be extremely resilient in the pandemic context and can be a model of managing a tourism business. In order to prove this, the study hereby proposes a financial diagnosis based on a balance sheet (financial position) in an interval of three consecutive financial years, namely 2019, under normal conditions, 2020, during the pandemic, and 2021, marked by a relative normality, however, influenced by the numerous restrictions imposed by the compulsory nature of the green certificate.
