Electric Power Supply and Work Performance of Academic Staff in Nigerian Universities: A Synergy Analysis

Abstract: Electric power supply is a component of the work environment of public and private organizations in Nigeria and other countries of the world. This paper is therefore, a synergy analysis (SA) of electric power supply and the work performance of academic staff in Nigerian Public Universities (NPUs). Assessing the current supply of electricity in terms of regularity and adequacy (which can best be described a epileptic), the paper shows the calamitous effect of this on the work performance of workers in terms of teaching, research development, community service and the discharge of the administrative responsilities of academic staff in Nigerian Public Universities (NPUs).As one of the means of improving electric power supply and arresting energy poverty in NPUs, the paper presents ways of conserving energy in offices and homes of workers.
