Abstract:
The bedrock of the European Union is an economic and social model, distinctly mentioned in the Treaty of Lisbon as „highly competitive market economy”, based on the idea according to which the economic growth is aimed at socially through the market. The model has enjoyed a large public acceptance. Nevertheless, because of some internal and global pressures, the respective model had to be redefined and adjusted to a changing context. This is shown in the present paper.
