Abstract: This article presents a case study on the implementation of an optimization model to the web databases, as part of the complex process of optimizing web applications. Along with the content’s quality of course, the website page loading speed is an important determinant of a quality site performance. To get a response time as low as possible upon access, the optimization must be performed in terms of configuration, verification and optimization of databases but also of structuring, standardization and simplification of the actual code of a web page. Following the study, we demonstrated that the application of appropriate optimization techniques, from the simplest to the most complex, on the web application database can improve the application's performance. These techniques provide an overview on the wide optimization methods only in relation to websites optimization techniques applied by the source code and their actual content .
