Abstract: Amongst most ‘delicate’ aspect when speaking about tourism impact one may mention the environment. The concerns about environmental problems are becoming more consistent and present, not only in the scientific literature, but also in daily life, with growing number of newspapers and journals emphasizing the effects on human activities on the environment. Tourism is considered as a sector contributing to the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, but also is affected by the level of pollution. This paper will have a bi-univocal approach, on the one hand the impact of changes in the final demand for tourism sector on the GHG emissions, using the environmental input-output (IO) approach will be developed and on the other hand the impact of tourism activity on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions will be investigated.
