Abstract: The historiography of the 1926 recession and the 1929 crisis in Mexico has not paid enough attention to the way it affected the sectors linked to the domestic market. This article is an approach to the economic performance of the brewing industry between 1926 and 1932, the years in which the recession and the crisis occurred. The factors that determined its growth and the way in which it was affected by the recession that began in 1926 and by the international crisis of 1929 are pointed out.
