Abstract:
The papers aims, on the one hand, to analyze the increase of productive asymmetries that have occurred between Argentina and Brazil during the last two decades, relating them with the trade deficit of industrial products that Argentina shows today in the bilateral relationship. On the other hand, it intends to contribute to the understanding of the roots of these asymmetries looking at the differences in the public policies implemented by both countries during the period extending from the implementation of the MERCOSUR, in the early 90's, until 2008.
