Abstract: The purpose of this article is to characterize the process of industrialization by import substitution in Argentina between 1930 and 1955, particularly in the study of small industrial capitals. To do so, we will work with two periods, 1930 - 1945 and 1946 - 1955, being able to analyze the different political and economic regimes existing in each one. The ups and downs of capitalist competition and the Argentine role in the international division of labour are dimensions that will allow us to understand the dynamics, the potentialities and the limitations of the local industrialist process.
