Abstract: In article the basic tendencies of formation of economy of an information society in Russia are considered. The analysis of dynamics of development of social, investment and innovative components, and also an industrial component according to official statistical supervision for 2000- 2008 is carried out. The presented data shows that Russia is at a stage of creation of bases of economy of an information society, but national business shows interest only to highly remunerative segments. The thesis about possible self-sufficiency of economy of an information society at the expense of existence of highly remunerative segments and redistribution of a part of profit in low income segments is formulated. In low income segments the basic loading lies down on budgetary financing, and insufficient presence of a state sector at highly remunerative segments doesn't give possibility of indemnification of budgetary expenses at their expense. Insufficiency of innovative activity and presence of a dangerous tendency on replacement of a domestic production by import in the market of information technics that leads to reduction of national industrial base is shown.
