Russian foreign economic policy in Asia and transformation of Greater Tumen Initiative

Abstract: The authors provide an analysis of the issues concerning the transformation of Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) into independent international organization, including transformation formats and expanded agenda of the new organization, organizational structure and the list of member states, the issues of project activities and the ways of cooperation with Northeast Asia EXIM Banks Association. GTI transformation issues are analyzed in the context of Russia’s strategic goal of developing Far East regions, as well as goals of Russia’s foreign economic policy in Asia in 2014-2015 and prospects and challenges of coherence between the Eurasian Economic Union and Silk Road Economic Belt.
