Abstract:
The article deals with the development of the legal English teacher’s metaprofessional competence as modern linguistic education does not provide for such a qualification. The author justifies the necessity of forming the metaprofessional competence for effective teaching of legal English discourse to international law students and stresses the importance of the teacher’s ambition for self-education. The author describes the knowledge and competences that the legal English teacher should acquire and offers some ways to help the teacher to build up the metaprofessional competence.
