Abstract: The TPP Agreement is studied in the context of intra-regional agricultural trade commitments. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) parties are a diverse group in terms of involvement in global agricultural trade and the level of applied tariffs on agriculture and food. The specifics of commitments under the TPP are revealed including a record reduction of tariffs on agricultural products with a number of exceptions and incorporation of WTO-plus and WTO-beyond obligations. The prospects and challenges of the TPP intra-regional agricultural trade liberalization for Russia’s agricultural exports are considered.

Keywords: Trade liberalization; trade in agricultural products; tariff and non-tariff barriers; the Trans-Pacific Partnership. (search for similar items in EconPapers)
