Abstract:
The article compares the electric power industries of the European Union and the Russian Federation. As a result of the study, it was found that the European electric power industry is superior to the Russian energy industry in terms of export and import of electricity, the use of renewable and non-traditional energy sources and the utilization of production capacity. The paper presents conceptual mechanisms for increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of the Russian electric power industry during the formation of the Common Electricity Market of the Eurasian Economic Union and the possibility of entering the global electricity market.
