Abstract:
This article reveals the main current trends in low-cost air transport development in the world economy. Changes in the key operational indicators of the Top-10 world’s low-cost carriers have been analyzed. The authors have studied the place of the Russian low-cost airline “Pobeda” in the world rating of low-cost carriers. The tendency of the classical airline alliance model to diversify forms of strategic cooperation with low-cost carriers is justified in this article. Full-service carriers create low-cost subsidiaries and increase the revenue from the sale of additional services in order to overcome the financial threat caused by low-cost airlines. The comparative analysis of the first results of low-cost airline alliances operating in the Asia-Pacific region has been carried out.
