Russia’s export potential on the world market for innovations

Abstract:
The article reveals a broad scope of issues regarding Russia’s performance on the world markets of tech goods and services, high-technology products and creative activities. Calculations and assessments of the value and structure of national innovation exports (good, services, technology) made, with special attention being paid to exports of Russian education, nuclear complex products and services, sales of software in various forms. The peculiarities of methodology for the evaluation of certain innovation export segments are also explained. Nowadays the value of Russia’s innovation exports amounts to US $35-40bn, with roughly equal shares of goods and services. The military complex and closely related aerospace industry, plus nuclear complex and software industry account for about 75% of the total value, wherein the latter two possess strategic innovative and competitive potential.
