Abstract:
This article analyzes the experience of China in ensuring the energy security, addresses China's energy exports and imports from the 70s, the structure of oil and natural gas imports in China in 2016. The data on coal mining and production of alternative energy sources is presented; the energy market outlook in China in the near future is considered. China intends to achieve 85% of energy self-sufficiency rate by 2020 year, the share of renewable energy sources to 15%, reduce the share of coal in industrial production up to 62% and increase the use of natural gas to 10%. The authors give suggestions how to use the experience of China for securing Russia's energy security, which imply mainly the transition from commodities export-driven economy to resource and innovation-driven development.
