Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of Egypt’s investment climate transformation since the beginning of the XXI century. The author researches the measures to improve the conditions for investing and doing business along with the analysis of structural changes having been carried out by Egypt’s governments during the review period, in particular, reorganization of the banking sector and the whole financial system. Special attention is also given to the study of changes in investment legislation and the regulation base of both local and foreign investments. Besides, the article examines the impact of the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 on the investment climate, and the steps of the authorities to improve it. The author’s focus is drawn to the analysis of the reforms that Egypt’s government began to implement in recent years to encourage investment and improve the conditions for doing business, given that at the beginning of 2010 s the investment climate has seriously deteriorated due to political instability. The article also examines the development of economic ties, including cooperation between Russia and Egypt in recent years, in particular, in the field of nuclear energy with the measures to create the Russian industrial zone in Egypt.
