Abstract:
The article deals with the progress of negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and on the Trade in Services Agreement, the current status of mutual trade in US and EU insurance services, the expectations of both parties from the agreements and the possible consequences of their signing. Possible ways to liberalize trade in insurance services are shown. The assessment of possible consequences is carried out on the basis of the analysis of the results of econometric models devoted to the abolition of tariff and non-tariff barriers in trade between the US and the EU. The reasons for the interest of the European side in these agreements and their rejection by the other party have been identified.
