Abstract: In the article the authors consider the emergence and development of trade conflicts in international trade initiated by the United States; they analyze the causes of conflicts and the essence of restrictive measures (sanctions) adopted by the Trump administration. The countermeasures announced by the partners - China, the European Union, the countries of the Pacific region,Russia - are highlighted. The authors point out that unilateral aggressive tools of US foreign trade policy undermine global economic stability and lead to slower economic growth in the countries.
