Abstract:
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) will strengthen its unique position in Japan, China and the Republic of Korea as an ecologically clean energy source in regard to dealing with ecological problems. In the Northeast Asian LNG market Russia has an advantage in comparison to other LNG exporting countries because the country is located in close vicinity to this market. Under the intensifying competition between LNG exporting countries it is recommended for Russia to create favourable conditions for LNG trades by improving bilateral relationship with Japan, China and the Republic of Korea and working out favourable LNG export contracts for LNG importing countries.
