Abstract: The article analyzes the prospects for cooperation between the Russian Federation in the RIC format (Russia - India - China). The objective prerequisites, the current state of affairs and real steps to establish this format of cooperation of the three largest countries in the region are studied. Positive development of the RIC is unlikely in the foreseeable future due to geopolitical contradictions between India and China and regardless of its objective usefulness to all three countries’ growth under the changing world economic order. Russia could become the initiator and moderator in designing RIC cooperation framework that might allow the country to be at the forefront of promoting integration in Eurasia.
