Abstract:
The article characterizes timber export growth from Russia to Asian countries. It is noted that presently China and India are the most promising importers of Russian timber with Russia being the leading exporter of timber to the Chinese market. Based on the SWOT analysis, it is concluded that China will remain the key market for Russian timber exports. Besides, it is argued that the highly promising market is India with its briskly growing housing market and demand for timber. The article reveals the constraining factors and competitive niches for Russian timber supplies to India.
