Abstract:
The paper compares the impact of the digitization of the global economy on the industry structure of global and Russian services exports. The benefits of digital information compared to analog information are shown. Digitalization is accompanied among other things by a drastic reduction in the cost of distance data transmission, which facilitates and boosts digital services exports and increases their share in international service trade. It is argued that digitalization of the world economy will only gain momentum in the post coronavirus period. Particular attention is drawn to the low growth rate of Russian digital services exports. Some promising areas for exports are stated.
