Abstract: The article considers the level of innovation of the APEC economies and the opportunities for Russian merchandisers to enter the APEC markets with high-tech products. Each country has its own positive and negative aspects but not all niches in emerging technology markets are occupied. Russia can cooperate both in existing areas and promising emerging markets. Russia has unique opportunity to use the advantages and off set disadvantages not only to enter high-tech markets, but also to create them inside the country. The final goal requires paying special attention not only to the technological aspect of the issue, but also to the functioning of the entire economic mechanism. Thus, APEC economies introduce innovations and make an unprecedented economic leap on the newly created modern technological base. It might be accomplished by Russia over the next 5-7 years.
