Abstract:
In the article, the authors examine the current issues of Russian-Indian trade and economic relations and note that the mutual trade has not experienced significant expansion. Particular attention is paid to the negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and India, considering the similar agreements that India has. The importance of air communication between the regions of the Russian Far East and Indian metropolises is emphasized and the need to conclude an Open Skies Agreement is underlined. It is shown that Russia should make longterm decisions on Russian-Indian cooperation, since medium-term decisions do not allow private business to plan strategically and do not take into account the needed changes in the institutional framework, which take time to accomplish.
