Abstract: Russia is one of the largest ferrous metals sellers on the world market. With the liberalization of foreign economic activities many Russian steel producing companies have begun to sell their products on foreign markets. The authors consider the process of arranging for export at a Russian steel producing company. The company’s choice of a buyer depends on the following criteria: performance, indebtedness, negotiations on international sales contract, and export arrangements involving freight forwarders.
