Insurance Interest in a Marine Insurance Contract

Abstract: The paper analyzes domestic and foreign approaches to determining the insurance interest when concluding a marine insurance contract. The main subjects of insurance legal relations - policyholders - and the insurance interest they have are considered. The author concludes that the question of the presence or absence of an insurable interest should be approached considering all the circumstances of the case in each specific case.
