Abstract:
One of the positive steps in Russia’s relations with European countries this year was the holding of the 10th meeting of the Russian-Spanish intergovernmental commission and the signing of the Strategy for economic cooperation development with Spain. Using various methods the author analyzes the external and internal factors of the evolution of Russian-Spanish trade are clarifies the prospects for its development with a joint strategic approach of its participants. The concludes that despite the political significance and practical benefits of adopting a joint strategy the achievement of the tasks set in it (even if there are favorable internal prerequisites) is highly dependent on external factors, especially the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international economic relations, as well as the policy of the European Union towards Russia. The materials presented in the article are not only of scientific, but also of practical interest, since they allow potential participants in trade between Russia and Spain to see promising areas for its development.
